Who we are

Aquila, a group within Constellation Software Inc., one of North America’s largest and most respected software companies, invests in category-defining B2B and B2G software businesses globally, providing long-term support and strategic guidance. Emphasys Software has been part of Aquila since 2008.

Operating across five specialized divisions, Emphasys provides mission-critical software that modernizes and streamlines complex processes for housing authorities, lenders, and government agencies in nearly every state. Through its products and services, Emphasys helps house roughly half of the country’s most in need families.

At Emphasys HFA (Housing Finance Agency), a division of Emphasys, we build and support the only end-to-end financial software in the U.S. dedicated to affordable housing. As the largest full-service provider in this space, we enable State Housing Finance Agencies and other public organizations to administer programs that help families access affordable homeownership or rental housing. Our solutions power the financial backbone that processes funding, manages compliance, and ensures every support dollar is tracked and maximized.

Who we need

Reporting to the Director, Client Services, we are looking for a Junior ERP Implementation Support Specialist. You will play a pivotal role in helping public finance professionals make the most of our specialized financial software. You will be a trusted advisor to our clients—primarily housing finance agencies—supporting their use of our General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Investment, Debt, and Cash Management modules. You will respond to inquiries, solve technical issues, and deliver customized training, all while building relationships that foster long-term success and satisfaction. While you will support new client implementations as needed, the majority of your time will be focused on providing ongoing support to clients who rely on our platform every day.

You will bring your accounting expertise and analytical mindset to a fast-moving environment where client success is the top priority. You will work with finance leaders and technical teams to troubleshoot issues, improve systems, and identify opportunities to optimize processes. You will also serve as a key contributor in onboarding new clients and supporting platform migrations, ensuring each interaction reflects the quality and care Emphasys is known for.

You have a proactive attitude towards problem-solving and taking responsibility for project outcomes and enjoy diving in with a hands-on approach to learning software. With this knowledge, you will gain insights into our clients’ business processes and provide training to instill confidence and create opportunities for further engagement with our products and services.

This remote position offers the flexibility to work from anywhere in Canada. The flexibility to travel to our annual conference in Fort Lauderdale, as well as anywhere in the United States to attend one or two industry conferences and possibly one-to-two client on-site visits are required.

What’s in it for you

Impact. You will support Housing Finance Agencies that are working to solve one of the most pressing challenges in Canada today. Your expertise will directly support their ability to manage funds and serve their communities.

Purpose. Emphasys is more than a software provider, we are a technology partner to government agencies nationwide. You will help clients adopt powerful solutions, guiding them through technical transitions and providing insights that improve their day-to-day operations, ultimately helping to streamline access to affordable housing.

Career growth. You will receive coaching from experienced managers and have access to cross-functional collaboration and ongoing learning opportunities. You will be part of a growing team with clear opportunities for advancement into team leadership, product management, or other client-facing roles within Emphasys or the broader Aquila ecosystem.

As our new Junior ERP Implementation Support Specialist, you will:

  • Support client success. You will provide responsive, high-quality support via helpdesk tickets, email, and virtual meetings, ensuring each issue is understood, resolved, and followed up on with care.
  • Build and strengthen relationships. You will work closely with finance professionals, from accountants to CFOs, to understand their workflows and guide them through effective use of our platform. You will tailor your communication to suit a range of technical skill levels.
  • Deliver effective training. You will develop and deliver clear, engaging training, written guides, webinars, and live sessions to help clients adopt and maximize the value of the software.
  • Drive process improvement. You will identify recurring client pain points and propose improvements to documentation, workflows, and platform features. You will play a key role in testing updates and ensuring user needs are reflected in development priorities.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally. You will partner with Product Managers, Developers, and the Director of Client Services to prioritize requests, share insights, and contribute to roadmap planning.
  • Contribute to system evolution. You will develop deep expertise in our legacy and new financial platforms, supporting clients through migration projects and helping build confidence in the new environment.
  • Own your work. You will take responsibility for your contributions, define your impact within the team, and help raise the bar for quality, service, and client engagement.

You bring:

  • The accounting knowledge. You have 4+ years of experience in Bond Finance and/or corporate Accounting/Finance, with a solid understanding of principles such as debits and credits, reconciliations, journal entries, and financial reporting. Experience with public financing or bond issuance is an asset. Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • The technical skills. You are comfortable learning and supporting financial software, using Excel for data manipulation and analysis, and working within helpdesk or CRM platforms. You can write easy-to-use documentation, and you are comfortable delivering training on-camera or in person. You may have experience with system implementation or user onboarding.
  • The initiative. You are a self-starter who thrives in an autonomous role and can research and apply solutions. You have a high level of initiative and take ownership of tasks and responsibilities, proactively seeking to learn and improve processes.
  • The consulting skills. You have a positive and personable attitude, approaching problems with patience, empathy, and tact. You are customer-focused and solutions-driven, working with a sense of urgency to effectively identify and resolve client issues. You have professional communication skills, including translating complex technical processes for a nontechnical audience. You can build and nurture trusting and influential relationships with customers and internal teams.
